Atlético Madrid vs Barcelona and Recreativo Huelva vs Real Madrid, March 1st

This is not normal. He's not normal, he never has been. He lives in the magnetic spectrum. What a goal this is. Beyond world-class. Astonishing. Cooler than a bomb disposal expert. Abbiati has no chance on this. Unbelievable ball played in, but look at what he's got to do, Phil. Acrobatic, turns himself upside-down, inside-out, it's all power, it's all direction, it's all bloody heavenly is what it is. Out of this universe. The ball isn't dropping like you usually see it, he makes it flush-on. That is amazing piece of football finishing by King Ronaldinho.
Ray Hudson, 29:13 1st

I love your statistics, my friend, but we've just seen poetry. So, you explain that with statistics. You explain that piece of finishing to me, and put that in your record books and smoke it, because there's no describing that. You think that that's just an overhead kick? You're dead wrong. I know you don't, but that is absolutely orgasmic finish.
Ray Hudson, 31:15 1st

What a goal from Ronaldinho, if you stepped away to grab some chips, you might want to hold on at half time to watch it. Cause it'll be on the front page of every sports section in Spain tomorrow.
Phil Schoen
You step away to get chips when Barcelona's playing, you've got a screw loose.
Ray Hudson, 38:22 1st

Simão, a complete box of toys that Zambrotta cannot contain...
Ray Hudson, 39:09 1st

This is a goal fused by the sheer, white-hot brilliance of Kun Agüero. The little Argie comes out and sinks his fangs into Barcelona...
Ray Hudson, 41:36 1st

It's onside, linesman, keep your flag down. Your village is missing their idiot...
Ray Hudson, half-time

Let me tell you. Every player sees a vision of a goal like every artist sees a starry night, but it takes a Van Gogh to capture the moment...
Ray Hudson, half-time

Spider-Man again, comes out and weaves his web all over the goal.
Ray Hudson, 7:35 2nd

The Van Gogh line has to be rays best ever...OMG

I like the "He lives in the magnetic spectrum" line even better.

Uh I hoped there will be some quotation about wife... But I can't remind whose wife was on their tongues ;x

The Van Gogh line was indeed excellent.

Asika - I don't remember anything about a wife since this but I watched this last night along with the second bottle of wine so my memory might be a little impaired.

No no, there was something in one of the matches yesterday. But my memory is bad even without wine ;/

I'm a little late to the party because I just finished watching it on DVR, but what a show. I was confused at the whole flipping between games thing, but Ray was simply amazing. I had a couple of friends over who never would watch soccer, but they lingered on their way out for a good 15 minutes after they heard Ray describe Ronaldinho's goal (simply brilliant, btw) as orgasmic.

Also, though the Starry Night line was good, I really prefer the line about smoking statistics. Classic "Ray getting mad at Phil and trying to finish his rant too quickly" stuff there.

The "Your village is missing their idiot" line is pretty funny...all of these are great. Also, "if you step away to get chips when Barcelona's playing, you've got a screw loose" is DAG RIGHT, MY BROTHA!!!

Best Ray game EVER, no question!!

One of the best, certainly. Two games at once that featured 11 goals and three red cards between them? Awesome.

Haha, this is an awesome blog. There's been a discussion about Hudson in a soccer forum, and someone found this site and linked it. Genius.

I agree on the Van Gogh line. Has to be one of his best lines ever. Usually his off the wall comparisons are good for a laugh and thats that. This one is incredibly profound.

If its not a hassle, can we get some audio?

Hudsonland said...

Will do, Tim, but I'm out of town with the wrong laptop right now so it'll have to be this weekend. Remind me if I forget.

I don't get any live audio out here so do the business pls Huds.

Man you forgot the best part about the ronaldinho goal when he says and this is his opus! this is what they will cut down trees for. Im not sure if that is exactly how it goes is there any way you can find that and put it in?
